New Launcher with Java 7 Problem

Even with the previous MC launcher, i was not able to update to Java 7 and get it to work, so i always just stayed with the lasted version of Java 6.

Now the new launcher requires Java 7, so i can not play Minecraft anymore on my laptop.

The Java error is: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

As trial, I would suggest you to first - Remove old Java : http://java.com/en/download/faq/remove_ ... rsions.xml
And then fully install the latest version : http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp

That's basically what I do when things get not to work, sometimes it work sometimes it don't, but try it.

I've already completely removed any versions of java and reinstalled version 7.

Everything else that uses java works fine, just minecraft is an issue.

Maybe your computer then..?
I'm no expert but sometimes whne there's an update and that's the first time you launch your thing with that update, your anti-virus may be blocking some things...Try de-activating it to launch your game.
Otherwise, try some things to "clean up" your computer, because if Minecraft is the problem it might be related to that.Here's a link to a programm I use often : http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.php

Meh... i recommend using these two: UltraDefrag + MyDefrag
the second one moves files at the begginging of the drive, even unmovable ones like MFT.

I'm gonna say its java 7 and either I don't have enough available ram or my graphics driver is not being read properly. I don't use the legacy ati driver since the default win7 driver is better in my case. I would rather have other games have higher fps and not be able to run MC.

No big deal through since MC never had higher than 30 fps anyway so ill just use my desktop if I gotta get on.
