About admin requirements

Post by Aya » Mon Apr 15, 2013 4:03 am

So.. I know I'm too slow this time but I just read the admin requirements.
I know you guys edited but I just wanna share my thoughts.

About age requirements-I feel it's extremely unfair that honest people can't get admins because of them being honest.
I understand it's there just to give out what's the base/limit is but some 17 years old can be a lot more dumb than some 12 years old.
And people can lie very easily like Lego or Exo.

Just as my opinion,I think people can be whatever age as long as being good at English to communicate with people and understand rules.
If you want more mature and active admins,I think you shouldn't limit by age.
I won't say 'remove it!!' but I would say rejecting them just because of that is not a good decision.

Also I saw you changed 8+days to 3days.
I think adding 'You have to be a native English speaker or close to native level' could be good.
Because having 72hours with poor English skills ... It will be disaster.
You can save their time to make an application before bunch of people say their English suck. :p

Nope.
I just have nothing to say, she has said all I wanted to say, damn, she pratically read my mind while posting this.
And as I am agreeing with what she says, I tell it, so the other viewers can see what my opinion is.
Aya may be a god person and a friend of me, it don't mean I'm agreeing with her all the time.
She can gives you some exemples ^^

Mustn't also wait for players to ask for adminship, initiative to push others for it can be good... *cough*
Keep in mind that what i say is not static, it is dynamic.
Years, months, weeks, and days after i say something, i can say the opposite.

Agree.
Asking active admins who they think should be admins would be nice.
I think that's the best way to find mature/good admins.

Originally, the gameplay requirement was set at around 2 days. It was only raised higher and higher to limit applications. A while back we received 15+ applications at once after opening the topic and that was just to many.

Since we are approaching the summer, we will need new admins, so the limit was lowered to give more players an opportunity. Lets face it, deathrun isnt rocket science. If you cant figure out how to play within a few hours or days of gameplay (which in reality is a lot longer period of time), then its hopeless.

Example:
For 8 days gameplay, thats 192 hours. Lets say you play 3 hours a day, everyday. That would still take 64 days (or 2 months) to get the time requirement. Very few people play at least 3 hours a day, everyday of the week. If you do, then yes, you are VERY dedicated, but require 8 days greatly limits the full range of people that may be good choices as admins.

Yes, but putting like, 6 days of requirements would be nice too...
They have to know people, commands, etc...
And look at the applying section : 3/5 of the men applying are bad choices.
I think 6 days is the good middle : They need to play alot, to participate and being involved in the server's life - Also not registering only once to apply -_- .
Well anyways thanks for the clarification, Ant.

EDIT : And us old-timers that's what we done to be admins.Playing 8 days in total.Being devoted completely (Or so).So I think that if we can, they can too.
