Half-Life 2 Deathmatch -> SteamPipe Update Bug

Post by Peter Brev » Wed Apr 03, 2013 2:27 pm

Ok, finally, my game got updated with SteamPipe and all seems to work.
But, it appears that they added back the Valve intro and it currently makes you crash right after when game loads.
To get rid of the problem, you have to right click on the game, press "Propreties", and set your launch options. Type this command and it should fix your problem: -novid
It will get rid of the Valve intro and therefore, shouldn't crash your game anymore.
It worked for me.
Topic created if you have this issue.
Not everyone has it, but it happened before.

After trying over and over multiple times, it didn't crash anymore and now it's updated.
Try doing it over and over myback it should work.

Am I the only that got ALL of my custom/downloaded files deleted? It's like a clean install of the game. It even moved my game folder to a different location...
Shit happens

Alot of my friends are texting me the same thing, as I didn't played since the update...See my latest thread, I'll post solution where there is one, but exept making a copy of your game files before launching your game, there isn't much solutions..

You have to move all your custom content into the custom folder, but you have to create a folder inside the custom folder.

I saw the readme but didn't really think about it, I'll have to take a look at it later. Thanks though

I lost all my custom textures and models.
But thankfully, all come from css, so I won't have troubles reinstalling them back.

Ill just quit Hl2dm, and move to creator's mod.
Valve won't mess it up for some years.

And ill probably come back in lets say... When ill update and care about their new shit update that fails with plugins and stuffs.
-I'm sure many of my scripts, if not all, will fail hard.

2,421 hours passed on that game.
But hey, they had to scrap the game to attract little kids.
Keep in mind that what i say is not static, it is dynamic.
Years, months, weeks, and days after i say something, i can say the opposite.

Eh, i had no problems with conversion though.

It's not that hard to get shit back.
Ant has to learn how to use SteamCMD and perhaps you have to learn how to move your folders from hl2mp/ into hl2mp/custom/i_am_a_potato/

@sorta offtopic
halls3 is a pretty nice map.
