Its been a long time since I've posted in this section....
So I decided to test something out today to see if the MOTD window (outside websites) can trigger things to happen in game. Well, they can. I added a new MOTD spawn menu to the cheat/build server as an example.
Just type !spawn and this window opens up:
All you have to do is click on the prop you want, and it will spawn where you are looking in game. Obviously, the cheat server (and HL2DM servers in general) aren't as populated as they once were, but this is just some ideas we have that could maybe be useful in the future and in other Valve game servers we run.

Pretty cool, great work infact!, I've been wanting to see this for ages, I know I requested this ages ago but I think you guys forgot about it probably. The only thing was that my idea also consisted of images of the individual props instead of just words but yeah like you said, this might be better for future games.

Yep, what's amazing is how years ago we thought this was super hard to do.
I think we coded the basics in like 30 minutes. I did the web design, ant did database.
What I also find interesting is how I designed +grabent and +copyent in sourcemod due to sourceop being discontinued. Some real old code there.

Re: New MOTD-based Spawn Menu
I was on the cheat server the other day and remembered that I had started this spawn menu but never really finished it. I added some features just make it a bit more complete such as a search box, a message that the pops up when a prop has spawned to provide some feedback to the user, and added a unique link for each player, so it could be used in Steam Overlay (since the MOTD isn't as functional as the overlay browser and shift+tab could be used to quickly open the spawn menu).
