Need some help getting Portal 2 working D:

Everyone knows that steam is having an awesome sale on Portal and Portal 2 for only a little over 8$ so i picked it up and downloaded everything but when i go to Portal 2 my entire PC crashes on start-up D:
Any Ideas to help?

My PC:

OS: Win7 64bit Ultimate
CPU: FX-4100 by AMD
GPU: Nvidia 550 TI 1GB
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600mhz
HDD: 1TB SATA 6.0 gb/s

This is what i have tried:

Verify Files Threw Steam, Uninstall/Re-Install, -autoconfig launch command and Disabling my Anti-Virus. O and Fixing my Registry with Ccleaner.

Go to one of those "Can I run it?" websites and see if it says you can.
You could also try updating your drivers.

if nothing else helps, try to remake your pc.

The 550 Ti is rated to handle Crisis at Ultra Settings The fx-4100 is a 4 core running 3.6 Ghz out of the box and ready to OC. There is almost nothing i can't run with this thing I would think its drivers but i have went back to 3 different driver updates for my GPU and still the same result. I read a bit about people having the same issue, with better PCs than mine.
