hammer editor weird known problem halp pls

i fixed it by using 2009 engine and hl2 as game, instead of hl2dm. thx to everyone who helped.

Yea I had that same error yesterday using hl2mp in 2009 engine

reopened: i need to use the hl2dm engine, because i cannot add rebels/combines spawn

guys i also have a problem with hammer, sometimes when i use key combinations and it doesnt act as it should:
example

Code: Select all

ctrl + z
*ctrl doesnt get pressed somehow, only z passes*
ctrl  + z
*ctrl doesnt get pressed somehow, only z passes*
*mad*
ctrl + z spam
*undo*
*undo*
*ctrl doesnt get pressed somehow, only z passes*
*undo*
*ctrl doesnt get pressed somehow, only z passes*
that happens in only hammer, and affects all key combinations.

This is usually a game problem.
Try moving your whole half life 2 deathmatch folder somewhere, and restart your game.
Refresh SDK, and reset its configuration.
Then set back everything and it might fix your problem.
I'm at my dad work place atm, so I'll look this evening when getting back home.

already did that, also remade the whole hl2dm options 'n stuff, nuffin' works.

Omg, it's easy lol.
Just create whatever entity, go in proprieties, and change the class of the thing to info_player_rebel and press enter. done.
Keep in mind that what i say is not static, it is dynamic.
Years, months, weeks, and days after i say something, i can say the opposite.

if you are using half life 2 deathmatch it will for sure do this.
Use hl2 regular, and do what i said earlier.
