Vote on World Reset?

Post by kylemcqueen75 » Sun Apr 15, 2012 6:51 pm

Hey guys, i was just thinking that maybe the reason everyone has been leaving the server is because there is nothing left to do? So i feel that someone has to start this poll and it might as well be me :P

So i'm going to list some benefits i feel a server world reset will bring.
1. More People? coming back/new
2. Even everything back out, players don't feel forced to join the largest town.
3. Moderation now, all the grief (or what looks like grief) that is around spawn would be less likely to happen with active moderators.
4. Use-less towns deleted :)
5. Reduce lag. (The Size of the Area51 minecraft server folder is INSANE)

So that's a few reasons why i feel that the server should under go a World Reset. Please if you have more Comment :)
Also if you Really don't think the world should be reset, instead of just posting "NOOO!" please explain and give some reasons, you could change some people's minds :)

Thanks for reading guys, and Vote in a comment saying yes or no :) (and why if you are not to lazy >:3)

According to the other topic I have posted on, a reset would be nice. Also, like Kyle said, the world is so fucking big. Take a look at the dynamic map.
My vote would be: YES
I come from the past.
I'll stay for a while.
I'll come back later again.

There is soo much griefed lands, houses, towns, floating trees ect and the current world file is on 2 - 3gb, and this probably explain lag issues. So I vote for a new world, yes

To be honestly, such stuff as a portal is not important. And the star is not big so you can rebuild it.

Nothing will be moved over this time if we decide to reset it. Everything will be reset (stats, money, items, etc). Its only fair if we are doing this to get new players. Otherwise, people will start off with tons of money (Jack) and we will be right back where we are now.

So... check the vote on top.

Fine with me. The spawn is just a little old. Plus, with the new updates of minecraft, all the land will be generated nicely.

If we decide to reset, everything will be reset just as what ant mentioned above.

Towns will also be closer to spawn. Also, in the beginning, people were glitching money. Having everyone start at zero will mean everyone has a fair shot of being rich.

I'm alright with the reset. It would be a new start for me (possibly leading back to my return to the server). The main problem is people will continuously explore very far making the server lag.
