this is such a petty thing to report about but still, so today we were on arduous and goomba(recently re-added as admin) banned a player. for what reason? ill post a screenshot at the bottom of the post, so pretty much a kid with oinly 8 hours gets banned for using his mic with no sound coming out of it, such BS, its not even considered spam if there is no sound, here is the screen: http://quicksnipplet.com/user/fang821/0IzUcf.png

i mean i know its only a 5 min ban, but seriously, why do admins ban for the stupidest shit...

i just want the owners to see what some admins do..

EDIT** Taken out of the logs

Take note, this was a kid with like 8 hours; Intent of coming back, and this actually kinda pisses me off because the server, not that anyone else has noticed, but really can't start banning players because of someone holding their fucking mic in and not making noise. A simple mute would have been AMAZINGLY effective..

Oh boo hoo 5 minuets.... come on it says hes been warned 5 times which is plenty, personally I would of just muted him and if he re-connected multiple times I would perm mute him but really? I can understand if he JUST started playing but after 8 hours you should know the rules , if not you should have enough common seance to know to listen to an admin....

edit* if you read correctly you would see goomba did the wrong thing, he wasnt spamming the warnings werent even good, if no sound came out then why care?

Sorry, this report is useless.

I have told him 5 times in the chat to stop holding his damn mic.

Yet, not a single response from him.

English might not be his native language.

I muted him twice, warned him once, kicked him twice, unfortunately, won't do it, so I go with a 5 min ban.

The fact is this: holding a mic button, even if no sounds is coming out is still spam.

You tell someone to stop holding the mic button, but he won't do it?

Admin CMD has to be used.

There isn't any abuse here since other admins/player as far as I know told him to stop too (times before).

Deal with it, I didn't ban him an infinite time either.

I try to not ban people instantly, but if you can't bother to understand an admin, then there's nothing I can do but trigger a ban.

The logs will pretty much give the proof of what I'm saying here.

I'm not afraid of this report since I'm pretty sure my actions were justified.

Mutliple warnings, mute, warn, mute, kick, kick, 5 min ban.

No problem there. Sound or no sound, its still annoying. And some players sound cuts out from certain mics.

Then case closed.

It would have been a 60 minutes ban, there would have been a problem... but for 5 min, really...

Would you prefer a full server with rule breakers?

I'm here to play the game and avoid using commands, but some people won't let me.

You would probably have done something too if you were an admin.

I'd have kept him muted, problem solved. This is a case of excessive force used too carelessly

Different scenario here.

He doesn't seem to understand anything.

I'm not here to ban but to play and have fun, it's my main goal.

But some people won't care about having fun but instead, make admins abuse as hard as they can.

Muting or pmuting someone will not be a definitive solution to mic spammers.

Leave me play and all will be fine.

It's no use bringing wikipedia's topics here

You are out of context.

Everything is in the logs.
